The ‘water grids’ programme was initially estimated at Rs 25000 crore by KCR and Co. it was later revised to Rs 42000 crore with 26 new schemes being included while the old projects were yet to be completed.
Three contractors were given the entire Rs 42000 crore works with one among them being allotted woks worth Rs 30000 crore.
Incidentally, 40000 crore comprises 40% of the State budget of Telangana.
But the above decisions of KCR have escaped media and public attention thanks to the ‘cash-for-vote’ scandal. Clearly, there is more to it than meets the eye.
How can KCR take such a huge decision without even taking the opposition parties into confidence? The loss to the Telangana exchequer would be immense.
