The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leadership is gearing up for major organizational changes, replacing inactive members and giving opportunities to new faces. A reshuffle of constituency in-charges is also underway.
In Uttarandhra, the political future of senior leader and former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao remains uncertain.
Since YSRCP’s electoral defeat, Dharmana has been largely inactive, staying away from party activities, which has raised doubts about his future within the party. However, the YSRCP high command still has confidence in him and wants him to continue playing a key role.
He has been assigned responsibilities in Srikakulam, as the party aims to reconnect with the public, especially with the coalition government completing 10 months in power.
If Dharmana remains inactive, the YSRCP plans to replace him with new leadership.
Former Speaker Tammineni Sitaram has already appointed a second-tier leader as in-charge of Amudalavalasa, and similar speculation surrounds a possible replacement in Srikakulam.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Dharmana is planning a political comeback—not necessarily to contest elections himself but to support his son’s political aspirations.
If he actively re-engages, many believe YSRCP could regain its strength in the district. All eyes are now on Dharmana’s next move.
