Triggering yet another uproar in the YSR Congress party, its national official spokesman Kanumuru Ravichandra Reddy lashed out at the party saying certain leaders like V Vijay Sai Reddy and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy were responsible for the sorry state of affairs in the party.
Ravichandra Reddy made these comments, not at a press conference, but in Sakshi television channel, the party’s mouth piece, owned by party president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The YSRCP spokesman alleged that it was Sai Reddy who was sending the Rajya Sabha members of the party into other parties.
“He should give a clarification in this regard,” he demanded.
At the same time, Ravinchandra Reddy made wild allegations against Sajjala, describing him as an anti-social, anarchic and extra constitutional authority in the party.
“He is a covert in the YSRCP central office. Because of him, the party had faced humiliating defeat in the recent elections,” he said.
Interestingly, senior journalist Kommineni Srinivas Rao, who was anchoring the debate in the Sakshi channel, tried to control Ravichandra Reddy, but the latter continued with his tirade against the senior party leaders.
Ravichandra Reddy’s comments evoked mixed reactions in the party.
A section of party leaders are demanding that the party should take disciplinary action against Ravichandra Reddy for tarnishing the image of the party and making wild allegations against the senior leaders.
Another section said Ravichandra Reddy had only reflected the general opinion among the party cadre, who strongly believe that the party lost the elections because of the leaders like Sajjala. At least now, the party should take corrective measures, they say.
