YSR Congress party leaders seem to be lacking enough punch in their attacks on the Telugu Desam Party leaders, particularly chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh, as a result of which the people are not taking their criticism seriously.
While Naidu and Lokesh are trying to garner huge publicity with their tours to Davos in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum summit, the YSRPC leaders are pointing out silly issues which have evoked little response from the people.
Take for instance, the YSRCP’s statement on Lokesh’s speech at the meeting of Telugu diaspora at Zurich on the first day of his visit.
While the speech was really impressive, the YSRCP pointed out how Lokesh referred to Union civil aviation minister K Ram Mohan Naidu in singular person, which it said was disrespectful.
The YSRCP also released a video clipping in which Lokesh was referring to Ram Mohan Naidu as “Ramu” and was recalling an incident of the past in which he called him: “endira ante..”
It was a casual talk and it also showed the kind of intimacy between Lokesh and Ram Mohan Naidu.
But the YSRCP took serious exception to Lokesh calling the Union minister as “raa” and alleged that he had insulted a BC leader who holds a Cabinet rank post at the Centre by calling him “arey..”
“It is a clear reflection of his arrogant mindset and lack of decorum. His comments, particularly towards a Union Minister from a marginalized community, expose his feudal and casteist attitude,” the YSRCP said in a statement.
It went to say that the incident highlights Lokesh's disregard for democratic values and respect for constitutional institutions.
“Such actions are unbecoming of a leader and undermine the dignity of public representatives who work for the nation,” he said.
Not just that, YSRCP leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that Naidu and Lokesh are misusing public funds on their Davos trip, calling it an exercise of self-promotion and false propaganda.
“The father-son duo prioritized personal glorification and baseless criticism of former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over attracting genuine investments,” he alleged.
