YSRCP cries foul over PSR Anjaneyulu arrest!

The YSR Congress Party on Tuesday condemned the arrest of senior IPS officer and former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief P.S.R. Anjaneyulu in the alleged Kadambari Jethwani case, calling it a clear act of political vendetta by the Chandrababu Naidu-led government.

In an official statement, the party said, “As part of the ongoing political witch hunt and the now-infamous ‘Red Book Governance’ model introduced by the TDP-led coalition, the arrest of former Intelligence Chief P.S.R. Anjaneyulu in connection with the Jethwani case is yet another disturbing example of the misuse of state power.”

The YSRCP alleged that the state police machinery is no longer functioning independently, but is instead being manipulated by Nara Lokesh and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for political purposes.

Describing Anjaneyulu as a highly respected officer with decades of exemplary service, the party said he is now being unjustly targeted simply because he served under the previous YSRCP government.

“The case lacks any legal merit and is clearly driven by personal and political vendetta,” the statement continued. “Instead of focusing on governance, the TDP regime appears obsessed with punishing those who upheld integrity and professionalism in the previous administration.”

What makes the arrest more troubling, the YSRCP added, is the selective nature of the action. “In the same case, the prime accused has already been granted bail, and the High Court has extended anticipatory bail to two other senior IPS officers allegedly involved. Yet Anjaneyulu has been singled out and arrested without justification, clearly pointing to political motives.”

The party concluded by warning that such actions send a dangerous message to civil servants and police officers across the state: “Either conform to the political dictates of the TDP leadership or face humiliation and criminalization.”
