YSRC takes pro-BJP stand at national level!

YSRC takes pro-BJP stand at national level!

Hitherto, ruling YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has not taken any stand towards national politics and is completely focussed only on the state politics.

While maintaining friendly relations with the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre, the YSRC has not taken any stand either in favour of or against the BJP at the national level.

Even at the state-level, Jagan has not been confronting the BJP, though the latter has been putting up a fight against the YSRC in the by-elections and also criticising his government on various policies.

At the same time, it has also not been taking any stand for or against other opposition parties at the national level.

Of course, the YSRC has supported the NDA candidates in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections, but it never criticised the opposition candidates.

However, it now appears the YSRC has decided to take a completely pro-BJP and anti-opposition stand at the national level.

It was evident from the way YSRCP general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy has been attacking the Congress party leadership.

He has been regularly tweeting making critical comments against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, her son Rahul Gandhi and other leaders.

One might argue that Sai Reddy is taking pot shots at Sonia and Rahul, because they had targeted Jagan for revolting against them and sent him to jail.

But Sai Reddy is making fun of the attempts of the opposition parties to come together and fight against the BJP. On Saturday, he tweeted against Rahul Gandhi for making an attempt to unite the opposition parties with his “Bharat Jodo” yatra.

“@RahulGandhi gave a call for opposition unity from his ‘luxury on wheels’ foot march with 59 convoy of AC containers. The party calls for unity which didn’t even inform opposition parties before naming its Presidential and VP candidates. What a joke Rahul ji! @INCIndia,” he tweeted.

Though he did not target the opposition parties directly, he ridiculed the attempts of the Congress party to unite the them to fight against the BJP. One won’t be surprised if Sai Reddy comes out openly against the opposition unity in the coming days.
