For the last few weeks, the Telugu Desam Party leaders have been circulating videos in the social media of the people in various parts of Andhra Pradesh questioning the YSR Congress party leaders about the local issues during the Gadapa Gadapaku Prabhutvam programme.
The TDP leaders have been extensively campaigning that the ruling party leaders are facing strong resistance from the people for not solving their issues, so as to generate a sort of anti-incumbency in the state.
Now, the YSRC leaders have decided to shoot back at the TDP leaders and pay them in their own coin. They are now circulating videos how the people have revolted against the Telugu Desam Party for attempting to question the Jagan government in Gannavaram assembly constituency in NTR district.
The constituency is represented by its MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi after his defection to the YSR Congress party. The TDP has sought to organise Intintikee TDP programme in the constituency to reach out to the people and win back their confidence.
However, the TDP had to face a stiff resistance from the locals. The party leaders led by local MLC and in-charge of Gannavaram Bachula Arjunudu, accompanied by former MLAs Mudraboyina Venkateshwara Rao and Chintamaneni Prabhakar, held the programme at Tippanagunta village of Bapulapadu mandal.
But the local people and women pulled up the TDP leaders and strongly resisted their attempt to campaign against local MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi and the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
They said Vamsi had done a lot of work in their villages and the others had hardly come to them to resolve their issues.
“We won’t get anything if we vote for the TDP. We shall vote only for Vamsi. For us, party is not important, since Vamsi has been doing developmental works and resolving all their issues,” they said.
When Arjunudu and others tried to explain what the TDP had done to them in the past and how the YSRC government was cheating them, the womenfolk questioned them and said there was no use of the TDP for them.
Having no other option, the TDP left the place in a huff. The local YSRC leaders which took a video of the entire episode has posted them in social media and made them viral.
