Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday made it clear that there was no question of having any alliance with YSR Congress party in Andhra Pradesh, which it said, was following anti-people and anti-Hindu policies.
This was disclosed by BJP national secretary and Andhra Pradesh co-incharge Sunil Deodhar. The party also disclosed its stand on YSRC on its official Twitter handle in the afternoon.
Describing YSRC as a party of rowdies, Deodhar said the BJP had never proposed any alliance with the ruling YSRC and it always waged a war against YSRCP’s alleged anti-people decisions.
“We conducted a number of protests against anti-people decisions of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. On the contrary, another family party – Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has not taken up any agitations against the ruling YSRC in the last two years,” the official tweet said.
The BJP leader was reacting to a report in the national daily quoting YSRC general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy that the BJP leadership had offered cabinet berths to the YSRC which had turned down.
He said there was no such proposal to invite the YSRC to join the NDA government.
“It’s an anti-Hindu party and sponsored religious conversions and is funding missionaries and churches,” Deodhar said.
The BJP leader’s comments come in the wake of the recent attacks by the YSRC ministers on the national party.
Senior minister Perni Venkatramaiah alleged that the BJP was conspiring to crash the state government to elevate a person donning saffron robes to the CM’s pedestal.
He termed the BJP as any other regular political party that also executes plotting and asserted that it was not an NGO. The Minister alleged that the BJP is hoping for a “baba’s rule in AP”.
