Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Andhra Pradesh to meet and interact with the flood victims.
He stated that the government delayed lifting the Budameru Gates at the right time, which led to the flooding of the entire city of Vijayawada.
He pointed out that the weather forecast had warned about the cyclone much earlier, indicating that extreme rainfall would begin on Friday.
Despite these warnings, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the state government failed to take the necessary measures, such as gradually releasing water to mitigate the impact of the flood.
"By not opening the gates in time, the floodwaters accumulated and then gushed out with extra force, flooding the entire Vijayawada area. Because the floodwaters were so extreme, the authorities had no choice but to open the gates, which resulted in the flooding of the entire city. Chandrababu should apologize to the people for this human error and for not conducting rescue operations efficiently," he concluded.
Jagan Mohan Reddy clearly explained how this disaster was the result of the inefficiency and lack of proactive measures taken by the Andhra Pradesh Government.
