Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh reiterated on Saturday that those who violated the law and committed atrocities in the last five years - whether YSR Congress Party leaders or officials - have been listed in the “Red Book” and are now facing the consequences.
Speaking to reporters, Lokesh said YSRCP leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi is also facing legal action for breaking the law.
“He had to go to jail due to his involvement in the kidnapping of a Scheduled Caste youth,” Lokesh said.
He assured that all facts related to the case would be revealed and appropriate legal action would be taken.
“Nobody can escape the law. They will face punishment according to the ‘Red Book,’” he added.
Lokesh criticized the governance between 2019 and 2024, describing it as anarchic.
He accused the ruling YSRCP of harassing TDP leaders through misuse of legal provisions and claimed that even TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was unlawfully confined to his residence.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh police conducted fresh raids at Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s Hyderabad residence on Saturday.
With assistance from Rayadurgam police, a team consisting of an inspector, a sub-inspector, and several constables searched his house.
Authorities suspect Vamsi’s mobile phone contains crucial evidence related to the case.
The phone reportedly went missing during his arrest, prompting police to deploy two investigation teams to Hyderabad to locate it.
The investigation team also collected CCTV footage from Vamsi’s residence.
Reports suggest Vamsi staged a dramatic 40-minute escape attempt during his arrest, during which his phone disappeared.
Police believe retrieving the device is essential for the investigation.
