YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy might be facing a lot of brickbats from not only the Telugu Desam Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party and other opposition parties but also national and international media, for his stubborn decision to form three capitals with administrative capital being shifted from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.
But Jagan has made it clear that there is no question of going back from his decision. He strongly defended the concept of decentralised administration and said it would result in all round development of the state.
Though the BJP in Andhra Pradesh is finding fault with Jagan for decentralising the administration, the party in Karnataka is highly appreciative of his decision.
BJP chief minister in Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa has taken the decision some of the major administrative offices from Bengaluru to other regions of the state.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Karnataka cabinet on Friday. Apparently, Yeddyurappa has got the nod from the party high command in New Delhi.
Some of the offices are expected to be shifted to northern Karnataka region, so as to bring the administration closer to the people of the region.
At present, people from far off places like Bidar, Belgavi and other areas are finding it difficult to come to Bengaluru to get the officials works done.
Definitely, the Karnataka government’s decision to decentralise the administration has come as a shot in the arm for the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
Now, the YSRC leaders have a reason to defend the decision of Jagan and can strongly counter the argument of the opposition.
