The coalition government alleges that a massive liquor scam has taken place in Andhra Pradesh.
It is known that the CID arrested former MD of AP Beverages Corporation Limited, Donthireddy Vasudeva Reddy, in connection with this case. He has since been released on bail.
However, reports suggest that CID officials have been pressuring him to reveal the names of YCP leaders involved in the scam.
The government claims that irregularities worth more than Rs 60,000 crore took place in filling stations, distilleries, and the establishment of liquor depots during the YCP regime.
Meanwhile, YCP leaders allege that CID officials are making a concerted effort to implicate YCP government leaders as the masterminds behind the scam.
In this context, reliable sources indicate that preparations are underway for the arrest of a senior leader who is very close to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is recognized as a "top" leader, and represents the highest legislative body in the country.
Government insiders suggest that this public representative could be arrested at any time this week. The government’s strategy appears to be to target Jagan through the arrest of this key leader.
As a result, major political developments are expected in Andhra Pradesh in the coming days.
