Before the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan was getting carried away by “CM-CM” slogans from his fans and party workers.
Yet, Pawan Kalyan knew his limitations and was aware that his party doesn’t have strength to come to power on its own. Hence, he entered into an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party led by N Chandrababu Naidu and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Thus, the National Democratic Alliance comprising these three parties came to power and won 164 out of 175 assembly seats in the assembly elections. And Pawan Kalyan became the deputy chief minister.
Within a few days of becoming part of the government, the Jana Sena Party chief appears to have realised that running the government is not so easy as acting in films.
He found that it requires a lot of patience, perseverance and hard work to be in the chief minister’s position, which is a throne of thorns; and that he is no match to Naidu on that count.
On Wednesday, Pawan Kalyan admitted how difficult it would be to run the state as the chief minister.
“I am amazed at the patience of Chandrababu Naidu garu. His brain is always thinking and brimming with new ideas. He has the ability to guide even the most experienced bureaucrats,” he said.
The deputy chief minister said the way Naidu was conducting the cabinet meetings for hours together was astonishing.
“He goes deeper into every subject, raises queries on every issue and doesn’t get satisfied so easily with the explanation of the officials,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan also lavished praises on Naidu’s physical abilities.
“At this age, he has the tremendous energy to get into knee-deep mud water and walk for a long distance during the recent floods,” he said.
He said normally, there is no need for the chief minister to personally get into the field to oversee relief operations, but he is aware that there is some kind of inertia in the official machinery.
“That is why he plunged into action personally, as it required a man of his experience to push the officials to do their job,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan said 70 percent of the public representatives in the local bodies belonged to the YSRCP, but none of them had done anything during the job. On the other hand, they chose to criticise Naidu, who was doing the real work.
The Jana Sena Party chief admitted that he had to learn a lot from Naidu and that he would love to work under the leadership of the chief minister.
