Will Modi attack Jagan at Chilakaluripet rally?

Will Modi attack Jagan at Chilakaluripet rally?

It is now official. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the first-ever joint public meeting of the newly-formed alliance of Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party at Chilakaluripet in Guntur district on March 17.

A communication from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Tuesday confirmed his participation in the rally.

In fact, it was originally planned to be the joint rally of the TDP and Jana Sena Party only, but with the BJP sealing the deal with both the parties, Naidu invited Modi to take part in the rally.

Since the Prime Minister is embarking on a conquer South mission, he has readily agreed to come to the Chilakaluripet rally.

Earlier, he was also supposed to address a public meeting at Visakhapatnam on March 16. But in the wake of the Chilakaluripet meeting, Modi has cancelled the Vizag meet.

The entire show is being organised by the TDP.

It has appointed 13 committees to ensure the success of the assembly, with TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh taking charge of coordination and management. The members of the BJP and Jana Sena Party were also included in the committees.

Naidu will meet with all committee members on Tuesday to discuss plans for the assembly.

The focus of the Chilakaluripet meeting is on whether Modi will make a scathing attack on YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government or not.

While it is expected that Naidu and Pawan Kalyan will hit at out at the Jagan government very harshly, it will be interesting to see whether Modi makes any comments against Jagan and gives a call to the people to defeat the YSRCP.

All these days, Jagan has been maintaining cordial relations with the Centre and Modi also has been treating Jagan as a close friend.

In the last five years, the Modi government has granted huge funds to Andhra Pradesh and entertained all the requests of Jagan.

Even the CBI cases against Jagan and the investigation into Viveka’s murder case have taken a backseat only because of the friendly relationship between Jagan and Modi.

Against this backdrop, whether Modi will hit out at the YSRCP government remains to be seen.
