Though Manmohan Singh belonged to the Congress party, he was not part of the Sonia-Rahul family.
Jagan Mohan Reddy may have differences and a strained relationship with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, but it is well-known that Manmohan Singh and Y S Rajasekhara Reddy shared great mutual respect.
Moreover, leaders from the BJP at the national level, as well as alliance party heads in Andhra Pradesh, expressed their deepest condolences to Manmohan Singh and praised his exceptional economic expertise.
However, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy remained silent and didn’t go to Delhi for the funeral. Unsurprisingly, this led to silence from everyone in the YCP as well.
How can anyone miss such an important opportunity to extend condolences and leave a politically correct impression?
On the contrary, Jagan Mohan Reddy appears increasingly isolated. He desperately needs allies at the national level.
Paying tribute to a deceased Congress leader like Manmohan Singh could have created a positive impression and helped him foster new relationships in the political sphere.
