Senior YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh education minister Botsa Satyanarayana asked the people of the state to disclose one reason why they should not vote for the YSRCP in the coming elections.
“There are several reasons for the people to elect the YSRCP to power again. They will realise once they ponder over the welfare schemes being implemented by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government and changes introduced by it in the education and healthcare sector,” Botsa said.
Describing Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as an invalid coin (chellani nanem), the minister recalled how the TDP had faced a miserable defeat when he fielded candidates in 175 seats.
“Now, he is fielding candidates in lesser number of seats, in alliance with the Jana Sena. You can as well imagine what is going to happen to his party. In fact, there is no guarantee that Naidu himself will retain his seat,” Botsa said.
He defended the decision of party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to change candidates in several constituencies.
“It is very common to make changes in the sitting seats depending on the prevailing political situation,” he said.
Botsa said those who had the chances of losing were replaced by new candidates.
“Only such discarded elements are tying to join the other parties. On the whole, almost all the party leaders are extremely happy in the party, which is going to be in power for another 20 years,” he said.
