TDP president and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu, who newly constituted the party’s state and central committee, did a lot of exercise to accommodate all and sundry in various posts and positions.
Those who didn’t ask for posts and those lobbied for the same got the posts, left, right and the center. Even those who defected from other parties and those who are planning to defect to the other parties were also given plum posts in the state and central committees.
So far so good. But one wonders why Naidu has ignored Bobbili kings in Vizianagaram district who have a great political and historical background and still have a lot of clout in the district.
Before the last elections, the TDP chief engineered defection of Bobbili dynasty descendant Sujaya Venkata Krishna Ranga Rao from YSR Congress into the TDP and even made him a minister in the state cabinet.
Now, Ranga Rao’s name is conspicuously missing in the lists of leaders appointed in various committees. It triggers a debate in the political circles as to why Naidu has ignored him, though Ranga Rao has all the abilities to be in the party’s politburo, if not in the central executive committee.
Interestingly, Naidu ignored many such leaders who had defected from the YSRC into the TDP in the past. So, it is pretty evident that the TDP boss wants to use such leaders with clout only for political gains, but not out of respect for them.
Now, it is time for Bobbili Raja to react on this and take a call on what he should do in the coming days.
