The open letter written by veteran Kapu leader and former Lok Sabha member Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah to the Kapu community, attacking power star and Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan for surrendering to the Telugu Desam Party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has created ripples in the political circles.
What is interesting is that the letter was being widely circulated in the mainstream and social media by Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), the political consultants engaged by YSR Congress party headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The contents of the letter, which are in Telugu, have been translated into English and are being circulated on social media by the I-PAC team, along with its own comments stating that Pawan Kalyan had proved to be a package star for the TDP.
“Jogaiah has cautioned Kapus in Andhra and expressed doubt that Pawan Kalyan May merge Jana Sena Party into TDP. He said looking at the developments, the allegations by other parties of the package seem to be true,” the I-PAC posts on social media said.
One wonders why I-PAC is making the letter written by Jogaiah viral on social media, as it is purely an issue between him and the Jana Sena Party chief.
Obviously, the I-PAC, which is working for the YSRC, wants to prove that Pawan is a betrayer of Kapu community and his own community leaders like Jogaiah are questioning his silence to the statement of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh that his father N Chandrababu Naidu would be the chief minister for next five years.
There is also a talk that the involvement of I-PAC in the episode could be part of the strategy of YSRC to lure Jogaiah into the party.
For, Jogaiah has never opposed the TDP-Jana Sena Party alliance and in fact, he even welcomed the alliance saying it is the only way to defeat the YSRC in the next elections.
Very recently, he had even submitted his own recommendations on the Kapu community to Jana Sena Party leader Nadendla Manohar and requested him to incorporate them in the common manifesto of the TDP and Jana Sena.
Jogaiah is not a political novice to expect that Pawan Kalyan would become the chief minister of the TDP-Jana Sena government, as he is very much aware Jana Sena would be a minor partner of the TDP.
“So, the ex-MP knows Pawan Kalyan can never become the CM. But now, he suddenly changed his tune and started alleging that Pawan is sold out to Naidu. It is pretty evident that he has come under the influence of the YSRC,” a TDP leader said.
