Ever since she took over as the president of Andhra Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, former Union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari has been saying that her party had an alliance with the Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan.
Even on Saturday, she held a meeting with the party state executive committee members on virtual mode, where she asked them to take the message strongly that the BJP-Jana Sena have a strong bonding and they would fight the next elections together.
But in reality, the BJP leaders of Andhra Pradesh have been caring a damn for Pawan Kalyan and his party.
The party leaders have been staying away from his rallies in coastal Andhra – whether it was at East and West Godavari districts or in the ongoing Vaarahi Yatra in Visakhapatnam.
While the Telugu Desam Party leaders have been reacting strongly to the criticism being made by the YSR Congress party leaders against Pawan Kalyan, though both the parties are not allies yet, the BJP, which his claiming to be a strong alliance partner of the Jana Sena have not uttered a word.
Forget joining the Jana Sena Party ranks in agitation against the YSRCP government and taking part in Pawan’s rally, the BJP leaders have not even condemned the restrictions imposed by the police on him at Visakhapatnam and the notices served on him for attacking the Jagan government.
Set aside other BJP leaders like Somu Veerraju, Vishnuvardhan Reddy or G V L Narasimha Rao, even Purandeshwari has not condemned the YSRC attack on Pawan Kalyan and the restrictions imposed on his rally at Vizag.
On the other hand, the Jana Sena Party workers took part in the sarpanches’ dharna programme of the BJP at Ongole recently, indicating that they are ready for the alliance with the saffron party. But the reception from the BJP leaders to the Jana Sena leaders was not so encouraging, sources said.
