Why Can't Naidu, Lokesh Come To AP?

The way Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh have been attacking the YSR Congress party government on handling of Coronavirus epidemic has been disgusting to many.

Both Naidu and Lokesh have been operating from their cosy comforts in Hyderabad, throwing mud at the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. They are purely banking on the reports being churned out by their favourite media and using them to attack the YSRC government.

In fact, being the leader of the opposition, he can easily get the required permission from the Andhra Pradesh government to return to his home in Vundavalli and tour different parts of the state to understand the ground realities.

“When ministers, MLAs and other public representatives are personally supervising the relief operations in their respective areas, nothing would have prevented Naidu or Lokesh from going to their constituencies to get the first hand information from the people,” an analyst said.

If TDP chief and his son really get any complaints from the people during their visits, they could bring them to the notice of the government.

“Then, they would have got the moral authority to point an accusing finger at the government, if there are any lapses,” he said.

But by sitting in Hyderabad, Naidu has been spending time by holding video conferences with his party leaders, speaking to media through Zoom app and even addressing NRI meets through online. And he has been writing letters to all and sundry, while his son Lokesh is confined to tweeting to attack the YSRC chief.

“Chandrababu Naidu is interested only in publicity; and does not have any intention to serve the people. He is making comments only to demoralise officials and doctors fighting Coronavirus,” YSRC spokesman Ambati Rambabu said.
