In another sharp attack on her brother and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress president Y. S. Sharmila accused him of exploiting her name and that of their mother, Vijayamma, for his political gains.
Responding to Jagan's recent remarks about a negative campaign against her during the TDP regime, which alleged she had an affair with Tollywood actor Prabhas, Sharmila questioned why Jagan, who was in power at the time, failed to take action against the TDP leaders responsible for such rumors.
At a recent press conference, Jagan presented a video claiming the rumors about Sharmila and Prabhas originated from the IP address of senior actor and TDP leader Balakrishna’s residence.
“If you truly cared about your sister and believed the rumors were spread by TDP leaders, why didn’t you order an investigation against Balakrishna during your tenure? Were you just raising donkeys for five years?” Sharmila retorted.
She further questioned why Jagan did not support her when she filed a case against those responsible for spreading the rumors.
“Is this how you react when such defamatory statements are made about your sister?” she asked.
Sharmila vehemently denied any connection with Prabhas, stating, “I don’t even know who Prabhas is. I swear on my children that I have never met him and have no relationship with him whatsoever.”
She accused Jagan of knowing the truth but allowing his "Satan army" of party activists to perpetuate rumors and assassinate her character.
“Now, for his personal benefit, he has recycled the same old video. He has no qualms about using his mother and sister for political mileage,” she criticized.
