The TDP and the media in AP are making hue and cry over the incident in Marcherla where some persons have damaged one of the two vehicles of Vijayawada TDP leaders Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and Buddha Venkanna, the other day.
The vehicle was damaged and an advocate who was travelling in it received bleeding injuries. However, the two TDP leaders escaped unhurt.
The incident prompted the TDP leaders, including its chief Chandrababu Naidu to hold protests and accuse the ruling YSR Congress of indulging in violence.
The media too carried incidents of similar nature reported across the state and try to brand the ruling party and the state turning into another Bihar.
If these incidents are enough to prove that the ruling party indulges in violence, what does the attack on Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh say?
Pinnelli’s vehicle was damaged and chilli powder was thrown at Suresh. Were they democratic protests of the TDP?
Macherla, part of Palnadu region of Guntur district, is known to violence, be it TDP or the Congress or the YSR Congress now.
Even the Communists here resort to bit of violence in every election. There is nothing much to talk about it, while they are condemnable in democracy.
Such incidents are common here and the violence was more when Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was alive and was ruling Sathenapalli and Narasaraopet areas.
In the last elections, 2014, Ambati Rambabu was chased by the TDP men in Sathenapalli and leaders of all parties were made to run for their lives in Gurajala.
Elections in Rayalaseema districts too witness violence every time and it is not limited only to the YSR Congress.
Chandrababu Naidu and the media see violence only now, as if there were no such incidents in the past and even now with the TDP leaders involved in it.
The TDP chief and the media are trying to paint the State, tagging it next only to Bihar. If TDP is in power, AP would be like the world’s destination for investment and since the TDP lost power, AP suddenly becomes a Bihar in the south!
