It was a rude shock for power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Monday when his own party MLA Rapaka Varaprasad defied the party whip and supported the three-capitals bill of YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the assembly.
Rapaka, who represents Razole assembly constituency in East Godavari district, cared a damn for the instructions issued by Pawan Kalyan to oppose the decentralisation of the administration and APCRDA repeal acts.
What is more insulting for the power star was Rapaka thanked Jagan Mohan Reddy for taking the three capitals decision on behalf of the Jana Sena Party and Pawan Kalyan.
He said the idea of having three capital cities would help the state develop in all fields.
Rapaka reminded that the backwardness of Telangana state during the combined Andhra Pradesh regime was only because the entire development was concentrated in Hyderabad leaving all the other areas underdeveloped.
He said the administrative capital at Visakhapatnam and Judicial capital at Kurnool would help the people of Rayalaseema and North Coastal Andhra people from migrating to other regions.
He advised the opposition parties also to support the proposal of three capitals.
He lauded the Jagan's government for implementing welfare schemes and providing 4.50 lakh jobs to the state's unemployed youth in short period after coming to power.
He said that everyone in the state-supported the three capitals proposal and there is no need for a referendum.
