When a leader is in power, he says law will take its own course with regard to people facing criminal charges.
But when the same leader loses power and gets into opposition, he accuses the government of targeting his party leaders for political vengeance.
Take the case of Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary and former minister during the regime of his father N Chandrababu Naidu.
He never uttered a word when the previous government was filing cases against the YSR Congress party leaders and letting the TDP leaders go scot free despite indulging in criminal activities.
Now, this same gentleman is crying from roof tops when the YSRC government is taking action against the TDP leaders facing criminal cases.
On Thursday, Lokesh went to Eluru jail to call on senior TDP leader and former Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, who has been facing several cases, including those filed under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act. He extended his solidary with the jailed TDP leader.
Lokesh assured that the party would solidly stand by Chintamaneni, come what may. He accused the YSRC government of indulging in political vendetta.
The TDP general secretary also went to the house of Chintamaneni and called on his family members.
He assured that the former MLA would definitely come out of all the cases which are being foisted on him one after the other, so that he cannot come out of jail.
