Vundavalli turns another Mudragada?

Vundavalli turns another Mudragada?

We have been watching how former minister and Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham dashes of letters to whoever is in power – whether it is former CM N Chandrababu Naidu or present chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy – on Kapu reservations and other related issues.

He has no other business but to write letters periodically and release the copies of the same to the media, seeking extensive coverage.

Initially, even media used to give a lot of coverage to Mudragada, but they have now stopped reacting to his letters, as he has turned a mere publicity monger.

It looks like former Congress MP from Rajahmundry and firebrand leader Vundavalli Arun Kumar, too, has turned into another Mudragada-type leader.

Though he has been away from electoral politics, Vundavalli has never been away from politics as such, but is confined to addressing press conferences and debates on important issues.

Of late, Vundavalli has become an aggressive critic of Jagan Mohan Reddy on various issues. So, he started dashing off letters to the chief minister questioning his decisions and making various demands.

The other day, the former MP wrote a letter to Jagan demanding that the government set up a high court bench in Rajahmundry, rather than one at Amaravati and another at Visakhapatnam, as was proposed in the three capitals bill.

In fact, Vundavalli had been critical of Jagan’s three capitals proposal and said nowhere in the country was such a trifurcation of administration.

On Saturday, Vundvalli wrote yet another letter to the chief minister, opposing the government’s decision to acquire lands of the Adikavi Nannaya Telugu University at Rajahmundry for distribution of house sites for the landless poor.

He reminded that East Godavari district collector had written to the Telugu University to hand over the entire 20 acres of land available with the Telugu University for distribution of house sites.

Vundavalli said the Telugu University was still under Schedule IX of the AP Reorganisation Act and it was yet to be divided between Telangana and AP.

“The Collector’s orders are in violation of the Act. They should be immediately withdrawn. The university lands cannot be used for house sites,” he said.
