Controversial seer Swamy Swaroopanandendra Saraswati of Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham, known as the spiritual guru of YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has reportedly decided to close his operations in Visakhapatnam and relocate to Hyderabad.
Reports from Visakhapatnam suggest that the Swamy has informed his followers that continuing at the Chinna Mushidivada ashram is pointless, as the current Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government might target him due to his association with the YSRCP.
Since Jagan’s party lost power, there has been a noticeable decline in support from the state machinery, and even the number of devotees visiting the ashram has dropped significantly in the past three months.
Furthermore, regular donors have stopped contributing, and YSRCP leaders no longer visit him, especially after his predictions of Jagan’s victory turned out to be incorrect.
Compounding his troubles, the TDP government has initiated an investigation into the previous allotment of 15 acres of land to Sarada Peetham by the Jagan administration for establishing a Vedic University in Bheemili.
The land was reportedly allotted at the nominal price of Rs 1 lakh per acre, while the market value is said to be Rs 15 crore per acre.
Moreover, Swamy allegedly obtained permission to convert the land for commercial use, a matter also under scrutiny by the current government.
Though Swamy attempted to forge ties with Chandrababu Naidu, his efforts were not reciprocated.
“As a result, he sees no other option but to move out of Visakhapatnam. He now believes that Hyderabad is a safer place for him to continue his activities,” sources revealed.
