In Vijayawada today, there was a huge commotion in the area where YS Jagan was expected to arrive two hours ago.
People showed great interest in seeing him from the rooftops. Not a single rooftop was left empty. There was a noticeable excitement on everyone's face.
A group, disregarding the police, pushed through the barricades to get a closer look at Jagan. They ran toward him, shouting slogans like "Jai Jagan."
Even a ten-year-old girl became emotional and asked for a photo with him. She kissed his forehead and expressed her admiration.
Scenes like these, often seen in Kadapa and Pulivendula, were now visible in Vijayawada.
There is clear dissatisfaction among the people with this government. The economic situation in the state has completely deteriorated. On one hand, the poor people are receiving no help from the government.
On the other hand, prices for essentials, house rents, and electricity bills have all increased. There is no work available, and businesses are struggling. The economic activity is so dull that the GST records themselves are evidence of that.
Although Jagan may not have officially come to power yet, there is a sense that he may comeback if election is around.
In just eight months of giving power to Alliance government, the people are showing more interest in responding more positively to Jagan’s tours, despite giving him a defeat in recent election.
