Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila on Monday gave a virtual clean chit to Telugu Desam Party in the recent sensational murder of a YSR Congress party leader Sheik Rasheed at Vinukonda in Palnadu district.
Speaking to reporters, Sharmila said her brother and YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was known for playing politics on murders and so, there is no surprise if he chose to do politics over the murder of YSRCP worker.
“He has done politics on the murder of uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy for political gains. But he did not take up any dharna seeking probe into it. Now, he wants to play politics in Delhi over the murder of YSRCP worker by giving it a political colour,” she criticised.
She said the murder at Vinukonda was purely on account of personal rivalry between the deceased and the accused.
“The Congress party has enquired about the incident and we came to know that it was purely a murder due to personal grudges between the two. It has nothing to do with politics,” she said.
Sharmila alleged that Jagan was known for playing ‘axe politics’ only to avoid attending the assembly session.
“Who will believe his words, when he is moving around with the killers of Vivekananda Reddy? Who will believe him when he backstabbed his own sisters?” she asked.
She alleged that Jagan had never staged a dharna on any public issue, whether it is for Polavaram or special category status for Andhra Pradesh.
“Just because his party leader was killed due to personal rivalry, he is trying to make it an issue in Delhi,” Sharmila criticised.
