After being denied the ticket by the Telugu Desam Party for the upcoming Andhra assembly elections from any of the constituencies in Vijayawada, Kapu leader and former MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna is trying his luck from Jana Sena Party.
Vangaveeti has already held two rounds of talks with the Jana Sena Party leaders including Nadendla Manohar. He is likely to meet party president and power star Pawan Kalyan in a day or two.
According to reports, Pawan Kalyan is considering two options for Vangaveeti – either Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat or Avanigadda assembly set, which were allotted to the Jana Sena Party as part of seat sharing agreement with the TDP.
However, Pawan Kalyan has already promised Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat to the sitting MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry, who defected from the YSR Congress party into Jana Sena Party only last month.
If the Jana Sena Party chief has to give Machilipatnam seat to Vangaveeti, he has to convince Balashowry to drop out. But Balashowry is locally strong leader and has financial strength to fight the elections. In fact, he has already started canvassing in Machilipatnam.
On Monday, Balashowry held a meeting with Pawan Kalyan, amidst reports that the latter was considering Vangaveeti’s name for Machilipatnam seat. The outcome of the meeting is not known immediately.
On the other hand, Pawan Kalyan is also considering Avanigadda assembly seat for Vangaveeti. But here, too, Vangaveeti will become a non-local and particularly, there is no guarantee that the local TDP cadre will support him.
Already, former MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad is protesting agaisnt allotment of the seat to Jana Sena. Even if TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu convinces him, he might not cooperate with Vangaveeti.
