Two more MLCs resign from YSRCP!

In yet another shock to the beleaguered YSR Congress party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, two more members of the state legislative council have resigned from the party and their council membership.

According to reports, the two MLCs – Karri Padmasri and Balli Kalyana Chakravarthi – would be meeting the legislative council chairman K Moshen Raju in the afternoon and submit their resignations.

The two MLCs will also write separate letters to the party president, stating that they are resigning from the party on personal grounds. They are likely to join the Telugu Desam Party sooner or later.

While Karri Padmasri from Kakinada was nominated to the legislative council under the Governor’s quota in August 2023 in the social service category, Kalyana Chakravarthi, who is the son of former Tirupati MP late Balli Durgaprasad, was elected to the legislative council in 2021 from the local bodies’ constituency.
