TDP Starts Playing Hindutva Card!

TDP Starts Playing Hindutva Card!

It is a known fact that Telugu Desam Party does not have a consistent stand on any ideology.

It can join hands with the Communists, dump them to join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party, desert it to shake hands with the Congress and then come back to the BJP fold.

After realising that it had done a big blunder by severing ties with the BJP before 2019 elections resulting in a heavy loss in the elections, the TDP is now desperately trying to get closer to the BJP again.

TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu openly admitted his mistake of entering into a battle with the BJP.

There have been umpteen instances in the recent past on how the TDP president showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, writing letters to him frequently and wished good health to Amit Shah.

For the last few days, the TDP has been blatantly playing the Hindutva card taking advantage of the growing protests among the Hindu groups against alleged attacks on temples and burning of chariots in the recent past.

On Wednesday, TDP spokesman and former MLA Bonda Umamaheshwar Rao accused the YSR Congress party government of perpetrating a systematic attack on the Hindu religious institutions and places of worship.

Bonda said ordinary miscreants would not dare attacks on Hindu institutions without the support of the Jagan government.

“Who will accept the statements of endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas that the government would restore damaged idols and build a new chariot?” he asked.

The TDP leader also found fault with some seers of various mutts for remaining silent when there was a systematic attack on Hindutva. “Why doesn’t the seer who kisses the chief minister utter a word when temple chariots are burnt, temple lands are encroached upon and anti-Hindu campaign is going on in Tirumala?” he asked.

He described it as shameful for the YSRC government to impose a condition that Hindus should convert if they have to get the benefits of government schemes.

“Perhaps, the rulers are of the view that people would convert into their favourite religion if there are attacks on Hinduism and Hindu gods are humiliated,” the TDP leader said.
