It looks like Telugu Desam Party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has lost all its hopes on restoring alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party despite its best efforts behind the screen.
It was evident from the way the TDP, for the first time, in the last two and a half years, went hammer and tongs at the BJP for its “non-serious” fight against the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government in the state.
Senior TDP leader and legislator Payyavula Kesav described the “Praja Agraha Sabha” being organised by the BJP against the YSRC government at Vijayawada as “Jagan Anugraha Sabha.”
He went to describe BJP as “Bharatiya Jagan Party,” saying that the BJP in Andhra Pradesh was entirely working under the shadow of Jagan and as part of his network.
“If the state BJP leaders are very sincere towards the state and its people, they should fight against the atrocities of the Jagan government,” he said.
Kesav sought to know why the BJP leaders had not responded when the YSRC leaders were attacking the house of Chandrababu Naidu at Vundavalli.
“Why have they kept quiet, when the Jagan government was blatantly diverting the funds released under central schemes for his populist schemes?” he asked.
The TDP leader alleged that the state BJP leaders had miserably failed to bring to the notice of the Centre the atrocities of the Jagan government.
“All these days, they had been silent on the misrule of Jagan and breakdown of law and order,” he said and demanded that the Central agencies should probe into the witch-hunt of political rivals in the hands of the Jagan government.
