The other day, YSR Congress party general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy wrote to Andhra Pradesh chief electoral officer Gopala Krishna Dwivedi expressing apprehension over the possibility of the Telugu Desam Party workers creating large scale disturbances on the counting day.
He also predicted that the TDP leaders would create hurdles by raising several technical issues and also prevent the YSRC counting agents to counter their highhanded behavior.
He appealed to the EC to provide all security at the counting halls and see that the TDP goondas do not create troubles.
As if lending credence to his apprehensions, TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday gave instructions to his party leaders and activists to take all possible measures to counter the YSRC game plan on the counting day.
Describing YSRC complaint as a mind game, he asked the party workers to counter the strategies of YSRC.
He directed that the party leaders constitute three special expert teams in each assembly constituency to oversee counting of elections.
He suggested to ensure at least one technical expert and another legal expert in each team, which will attend for the counting of polled votes in the EVMs and VVPATs on May 23.
Naidu also informed the party leaders to include experienced agents in the counting team.
He said that at state level, he would constitute an expert team with MLC TD Janardhan and another leader Saibabu as members. They will coordinate with all the teams across the state to create awareness.
Each vote will count a lot and every one of the expert teams must have command assay booth level voting pattern, he said.
So, an interesting battle is on cards on the counting day in AP!
