Kurnool: The state police have arrested yet another TDP leader in Kurnool district.
The police booked cases against TDP former MLA B C Janardhana Reddy for assault on YSR Congress activist Koneti Durga Prasad at Banaganapalle in Kurnool district, the other day.
Durga Prasad, who received serious injuries was admitted to government general hospital in Kurnool.
The police arrested the former MLA for assault on Durga Prasad. The former MLA was assisted by another 8 TDP activists, most of them his supporters.
The eight supporters too were taken into custody by the Kurnool district police.
The police booked cases against him and his supporters under Section 307 and other relevant sections of attempt to murder.
The police are likely to produce the former MLA and his supporters before the magistrate after the initial enquiry.
While the state government, the state police and the ruling YSR Congress leaders justified the arrest of the former MLA and his supporters, the TDP condemned the arrest and alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy government was continuing its political witch-hunt.
The TDP leadership demanded that the police withdraw all cases filed against Janardhan Reddy and release them immediately.
