TDP creates ruckus in assembly, targets Governor

As expected, the Telugu Desam Party members created a ruckus in the Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly on the first day of the budget session that commenced on Monday.

Interestingly, the TDP members, who attended the session without their leader, former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, targeted Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan, who was addressing both the houses of the state legislature on the first day of the session.

The TDP members raised “Governor, go back,” slogans and tore the copies of his speech, in protest against his inability to protect the Constitutional institutions, which they alleged, were being misused by the YSR Congress party government.

The TDP MLAs and MLCs stood in their seats and continued to raise slogans, even as the Governor was reading out his speech. Some of them even tried to storm the podium.

At one stage, chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was seen expressing anger at the discourteous behaviour of the TDP members.

They raised slogans, alleging that the Governor had signed the bills against Amaravati capital region and failed to rein in the ruling party attacks on the TDP leaders across the state.

After making ruckus for about 15-20 minutes, the TDP members staged a walkout of the House, even as the Governor was addressing the both the Houses.

They tried to block the lobby to gherao the Goveror, who would be passing through the area after completion of his speech.

However, the assembly marshals foiled their attempt and evicted them from the lobbies, so that they would not create any trouble for the Governor on his way back from the assembly.
