YSRCP Legal Cell president Manohar Reddy on Saturday slammed Telugu Desam Party for spreading fake news and posting morphed obscene content on social media targeting YSRCP leaders, including party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to the media at the party central office here on Saturday, he lashed out at TDP and Jana Sena’s social media teams for circulating morphed images and false narratives to malign the party.
“These actions reflect their frustration and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of YSRCP leaders,” he said.
Manohar Reddy highlighted how TDP’s official social media accounts have been actively involved in sharing indecent and obscene posts targeting YSRCP leaders.
He revealed several instances of doctored images being used to spread false narratives during elections and other events.
He also brought attention to the harassment of critics like Inturi Ravikiran, who uses satire to question the government. Despite his health issues, Ravikiran has been slapped with multiple cases, which he described as an attack on free speech and democracy.
Reddy further cited incidents of harassment against YSRCP activists, including Dalit individuals and women, who were falsely implicated in cases and subjected to physical abuse by the authorities.
He emphasized that such actions are an abuse of power and warned that police officials involved in these activities would face legal consequences.
He labeled the TDP as a "fake news factory" that relies on lies and propaganda to mislead the people.
