Survey Report: TDP Picks Up But YCP Wins Again

It is common to see victories and defeats in politics. There will be many reasons for getting into power and losing it.

After the state bifurcation, TDP formed the government for the first time. But YCP came to power subsequently. It is known what kind of defeat the TDP tasted in the hands of YCP.

There has been a widespread belief that TDP can never bounce back. Everybody thought that Jagan Mohan Reddy gave a permanent knockout blow to TDP.

Chandrababu also has been in grief for quite a long time. The propaganda by the yellow media has been that the state of AP is in doldrums under YCP rule.

One cannot rule it out stating that it is completely false. Jagan focussed only on welfare schemes ever since he came to power but ignored development through income generation with investments. With this, he lost income and went into debts. TDP and its media publicized this.

Nobody knows upto what extent the people got this in mind, but a recent survey by a company concluded that anti incumbency in the state is very minimal.

The survey clearly said that whatever be the increase in anti incumbency in the next two years, YCP comes to power again even in 2024.

But the survey also said that the TDP will pick up in the coming two years. Though it may not come back to power, if the situation continues like this, it may cut down the number of seats procured by YCP in previous elections, says the survey. As the election is still 2 years ahead, we may not come to the conclusion that this survey will become true.

So it is too early to predict anything. Only the time and tide can decide on anything. It is high time for YCP to work towards income generation to prevent anti-incumbency.
