The tales about caste domination in the major economic zones has been a thing in India and it has been a tad higher in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
For a long time, the domination of a particular community was clearly visible but things are now changing with the arrival of Y S Jagan, which is not being digested by some groups.
Since the 80s the domination of one caste in Vizag has been quite strong. And if any other community tries to rise up, they are trampled mercilessly.
To quote a few examples, there used to be an MNC which was into the cool drink business in Vizag. The dealer of that company was from the community we are talking about. At that time a local brand came. The owner of that company was a businessman who had good fame in book business within Vizag.
So, the dealer of the MNC soft drink company had ensured that no cool drink bottle entered the theatres because the theatre management and owners were also from his own community.
The moment they saw empty bottles of the local brand, they used to replace them with their bottles and take those empty bottles and dump them in the sea. The local brand was left with literally no bottles to refill. Eventually they had to wind up their business and that factory became deserted.
After some time, another MNC has entered Vizag and the dealership was given to another community that can really fight with the community we are talking about. The earlier company wished to apply the same formula on this new brand of soft drink. But the new brand dealer was strong enough to fight both in legal and illegal ways and cut the tails of the domination.
Similarly, one reputed hotel in Hyderabad wanted to open another hotel in Vizag and they purchased a land. Already, that community heads wanted to construct a hold next to the land purchased by the Hyderabad party. Immediately this community people started moving their cards. Within no time, they managed to find a tiny little member of the Hyderabad hotel’s family and put litigation. That’s it, the matter went to court and the land remained as it is.
Meanwhile, the Vizag party constructed their hotel and ruled the business there.
Coming to Eenadu office in Vizag, the illegally occupied land was grabbed back by the government only in YSR's regime.
So, now, the same community people are afraid that if Vizag becomes the capital, then their domination will be curbed by hook or crook. Hence they want Amaravathi as capital but not Vizag. They want both the cities for their selfish business growth.
