Somu Veerraju recommends sacking of Kanna

It looks like days are numbered for former minister and ex-president of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Andhra Pradesh unit Kanna Lakshminarayana in the party, according to party sources.

Present state BJP president Somu Veerraju is understood to have lodged a complaint with the party national leadership against Kanna, stating that the latter was making serious comments against the party damaging its image and causing embarrassment to the party leaders.

Kanna, who has remained silent for a few days after making wild comments against Veerraju over the alliance with Jana Sena Party headed by power star Pawan Kalyan, has started fuming at the BJP leadership again.

Particularly, Kanna is angry with Veerraju for removing certain leaders appointed as district BJP presidents during the former’s regime. He alleged that Veerraju was taking unilateral decisions without consulting anybody.

Kanna also alleged that Veerraju was hand in glove with the YSR Congress party leaders and ignoring alliance with Pawan Kalyan.

Veerraju brought to the notice of the party national leadership that Kanna was making wild allegations only with an intention to get suspended from the party, so that he could join the TDP or Jana Sena.

“There are reports that he is already in touch with the TDP-BJP leadership. Instead of quitting the party on his own, Kanna is waiting for the BJP leadership to sack him,” Veerraju complained to the Delhi bosses.

Kanna, however, made it clear that he would continue in the BJP and there was no truth in the reports that he would join Jana Sena.

However, he is demanding that the BJP leadership should take Pawan Kalyan into confidence for all its programmes.

Sources said Kanna might not get the invitation for the BJP national executive committee meetings to be held in Delhi on January 16 and 17.

“If Kanna doesn’t get the invite, it amounts to sacking him indirectly and he has to make an exit sooner than later,” sources added.
