It is official now. YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday announced postponement of his plan to shift of the chief minister’s office and other administrative offices to Visakhapatnam to December.
Jagan made an announcement to this effect while interacting with the employees of Infosys, whose office he inaugurated at IT Hills campus in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
The chief minister said he would be relocating to Visakhapatnam in December and along with him, the entire administration will also move to the port city.
“I will be operating from here from December,” he announced.
Stating that Visakhapatnam has a glorious future to develop as a world class city, Jagan said it is going to be the dream city of everybody and the arrival of Infosys will attract more IT and infrastructure companies to the city.
“I am going to come to Visakhapatnam and stay here permanently. This is going to be my place of working from December,” he said.
Till the other day, there was a talk that Jagan would be shifting his CMO to Visakhapatnam from Dasara festival on October 23.
Even a couple of days ago, there were reports that Jagan would be coming to Visakhapatnam and would perform puja at his proposed camp office at Rushikonda.
However, YSRC leader and party in-charge of north Andhra Y V Subba Reddy declared that it might take a couple of months more due to technical reasons. Apparently, it will take some more time for the completion of the entire infrastructure.
Moreover, the state government could not find suitable accommodation for shifting of the other government offices and buildings for bureaucrats in Viskhapatnam. The committee appointed for the same indicated that it might take some more time.
It remains to be seen whether Jagan’s plan to shift to Visakahpatnam at least in December will materialise now.
