Congress leader Y S Sharmila has a unique style. If she decides to support the Alliance government in Andhra Pradesh, she immediately rushes forward to face media cameras and loudly criticizes her brother, Jagan.
Typically, one would expect that being in the opposition means holding the government accountable. But when looking at Sharmila, anyone might wonder why she keeps attacking fellow opposition members instead.
Occasionally, if she wishes to make statements against the government—perhaps to show that the opposition is playing its role—she limits herself to mere tweets rather than holding press conferences. Those tweets don't reach everyone anyway.
They might serve as a record that she criticized the Alliance Government, but they have no real impact or purpose.
Currently, the issue of the Gudlavalleru girls' hostel is a hot topic in the state. If Sharmila were to come out and hold a press conference on this, she could gain some significant traction as an opposition leader. But she has her own style and agenda.
