Sharmila Husband To Float New Party In AP?

Sharmila Husband To Float New Party In AP?

Has Y S Sharmila, president of YSR Telangana party and sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, decided to float a new party in Andhra Pradesh as well?

The answer appears to be yes, according to reports surfacing in a section of media.

According to these reports, the new party would be headed by Sharmila’s husband and noted evangelist Brother Anil Kumar.

It is learnt Anil Kumar had held a series of meetings with representatives of various organisations in Vijayawada on Monday.

During the meeting that went on for more than two hours, he reportedly announced that he would float a new political party in Andhra Pradesh soon.

Many of these people with whom Anil had held meetings had earlier worked for Jagan Mohan Reddy. They include various OBC groups, which had dumped the TDP and worked for the YSR Congress party in the last elections.

The representatives told Anil that they had strived a lot for Jagan Mohan Reddy in the last two assembly elections. In 2019, Anil Kumar himself had held meetings with these groups and asked them to work for Jagan’s victory.

But, they complained that they could not get an appointment with Jagan even after repeated attempts in the last two and a half years.

They poured out their woes with Anil Kumar, who reportedly disclosed that he would soon launch a new political party and they would all work under the new outfit.

“The details of the new political party would be announced shortly,” these reports said.

It may be mentioned that Anil Kumar had recently met former Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar at Rajahmundry on his way to Bhimavaram recently.

He told reporters then that he had discussed political situation with Vundavalli, but refused disclose what transpired between them.

“We have our own secrets. We shall disclose the same whenever it is necessary at an appropriate time,” Anil said, adding politics was meant for doing good to the people.

“I have complete faith in Jesus Christ and without the Jesus will, he would not take up any task,” he said.

In October, there were reports that Sharmila was planning to launch her party in Andhra Pradesh. "Never say never," she said when a reporter asked whether she was planning to launch a party in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh or not.

"Anything is possible anytime in politics," she said.
