Self-respect only for judges, not for Jagan?

Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Employees’ Association Kakarla Venkatrami Reddy on Saturday made sensational comments against the state high court judges for trying to interfere in the administrative decisions of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and control his government.

Speaking at the state executive committee meeting of village and ward secretariats’ association, Venkatrami Reddy, who is known for his pro-YSRCP stand, said there were peculiar conditions prevailing in the state, where certain Constitutional bodies were trying to dictate the state government.

“We have a government that is doing good to the people and we have to safeguard it. At the same time, we also need to highlight the loopholes in the judiciary which is interfering in the administration,” he said.

Reddy pointed out that when people make comments against judges on the social media, they get arrested and won’t get bail for three months.

“But those who address press conferences and abuse the chief minister, they get bail within an hour,” he criticised.

He wondered whether self-respect was the privilege of only judges and not the chief minister.

“When a former minister used abusive language against Jagan, the high court judges gave an order not to take any action against him,” he pointed out.

Reddy said when the people made any criticism against the judiciary, the judges call it a contempt of court.

“But we have to speak truths and should not be afraid of the same and see that the government should not be discredited,” he said.

The employees’ leader pointed out that a retired judge of Chennai high court clearly mentioned that the state high court was trying to corner the Andhra Pradesh government.

“We feel very bad, when the judges call senior IAS officer and make them wait for hours together,” he regretted.

Stating that the secretariat employees were giving a lot of respect to the high court judges, Reddy reminded that whenever judges pass on the karakatta road on Krishna river bank, the secretariat employees pave way for them.
