SC Admits AP Case, No To Nimmagadda Orders

SC Admits AP Case, No To Nimmagadda Orders

The Supreme Court had admitted the case of the AP government against the gram panchayat elections and posted the case for hearing on Monday.

After rejecting the House Motion, the SC had admitted the case on Friday evening.

This would mean that the orders of SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar transferring two district collectors, two DSPs and four Circle Inspectors stand cancelled till Monday or for that time the SC gives its verdict.

This would also mean that the SEC would not be able to release notification on Saturday as scheduled by him today.

His memos to Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Gopala Krishna Dwivedi and Commissioner Girija Prasad would also have no value.

Meanwhile, chief secretary Adityanath Das is reliably writing a letter to the SEC informing him that the employees were not ready to take up the election duty.

As the employees have given him in writing that they would not join the election duty due to Covid 19, the chief secretary had reportedly decided to inform the SEC his helplessness.

It is now to be seen what the SEC would do, till Monday, when the SC takes up the case for hearing.

Interestingly, the Printing and Stationery department of the State government too was closed on Friday evening and would reopen only on Monday.

This would mean that Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar would not be able to get his orders and notification printed officially till Monday, even if he ignores the SC admitting the case and posting it for Monday.
