Now that he has completed the formation of a full-fledged cabinet, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has ample time to focus on accommodating other loyalists and seniors in the party in various important posts and positions.
According to latest reports, senior YSRC leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who has been a long-time associate of Jagan Mohan Reddy, is going to be made the political advisor to the chief minister, a very important position in the government. The orders are likely to be issued in a day or two.
Sajjala, who had been the editorial director of Sakshi media group for a quite long time, was also a business partner of Jagan in various industries.
He had been doing all the backroom work for Jagan in the party and when the latter was in jail for nearly 16 months, it was Sajjala along with others who held the party intact.
As a political advisor, Sajjala would be playing a key role in taking political decisions by Jagan, including relations with the Centre and the neighbouring states.
Another important appointment Jagan is learnt to have finalised was that of Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy as the chairman of AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) that takes care of construction of capital Amaravati. Reddy’s constituency Mangalagiri falls under the capital region.
During the Telugu Desam Party, the CRDA was headed by none other than then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who used to personally monitor the capital development works. It also led to large scale allegations of corruption and insider trading in the capital.
Now, Alla will have the responsibility to not only unearth the scandals, but also come up with innovative plans for the capital.
