The YSR Congress party is planning to take up massive demonstrations across Andhra Pradesh in the name of “Yuvatha Poru” on Wednesday (March 12) to fight for the release of fee reimbursement scheme arrears for students and against betrayal of unemployed youth by the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government.
So far, so good. But what irritated the YSRCP cadre was the poster released by the party on the agitational programme which was posted on the social media platform X under the party’s social media handle Jagananna Connects.
The poster, which explains about the YSRCP’s programme Yuvatha Poru on March 12 as per the directions of party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has the big picture of YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, while relegating Jagan’s picture to a corner.
This has angered the YSRCP workers, who took potshots at Sajjala for hijacking the programme.
“Why is this photo of Sajjala so big? Is Jagan not attending the programme?” asked a netizen.
He also pointed out that March12 happens to be the YSRCP foundation day and it was unfortunate that the party seems to have forgotten it, as there is not a single post on the same on social media.
Another YSRCP follower posted a changed poster of the programme, replacing Sajjala picture with Y S Rajasekhar Reddy picture.
“We are here only for YSR and Y S Jagan anna. Even when YSRCP was in power, the party’s social media wing used a big picture of Sajjala Bhargava, reducing the size of Jagan picture,” he recalled.
“The party workers have already forgotten Sajjala. Under these circumstances, using such a big picture of Sajjala on the party poster is nothing but a daring act. Let him not come out, as it creates problems for the party. It is better to remove Sajjala picture on the poster,” another netizen said.
“Why such a big picture of Sajjala? Do you want the party to survive or not? It appears you will not get shame unless you are made to sit in the opposition for the next time, too,” commented another worker.
Another YSRCP fan from Kerala sarcastically described the poster as a depiction of Sajjala’s death.
“So sad to know about sajjala garu death As a Malayali, I can’t understand English and Telugu. And due to this I only got to understand what I can see Rest in peace @SRKRSajjala Wishing your family for recovery @SajjalaBhargava,” he said.
“SRK CONNECTS ani pettuko bro sammaga untadhi..(Better to rename the X handle as SRK Connects, rather than Jagananna Connects),” commented another youth.
