With the intelligence inputs indicating a tough contest in Guntur and Prakasam districts in the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed his trusted lieutenants as party coordinators in these districts.
According to a party communique, YSRCP general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Guntur district.
At present, Sai Reddy has been looking after the party affairs as regional coordinator for the districts of Joint Prakasam, Joint Nellore, Bapatla, and Narasaraopet. Hereafter, he will handle the party affairs in Guntur as well.
Similarly, Jagan appointed his loyalist and sitting MLA from Chandragiri Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy as the regional coordinator for Ongole parliamentary constituency, apart from Kandukuru, Santhanuthalapadu and Kavali assembly constituencies.
In all probability, Chevireddy will be the party candidate for Ongole Lok Sabha seat.
