Sai Reddy to help cops 'expose liquor thieves'

Sai Reddy to help cops 'expose liquor thieves'

Even as the arrest of Raj Kasireddy in the alleged liquor scam during Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime has sent shockwaves through Andhra Pradesh's political circles, former YSR Congress Party general secretary and ex-Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy has made yet another explosive statement.

Taking to social media platform X, Sai Reddy remarked that the state police had only “partially disrobed” the liquor thieves.

“I will fully cooperate with the police in completely exposing them and helping to strip away all the layers hiding these thieves,” he wrote.

Sai Reddy also alleged that those already caught and others yet to be apprehended in the scam were attempting to drag his name into the case to deflect blame.

“My role in the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam is that of a whistleblower. I have not taken even a single rupee,” he asserted.

With this statement, Sai Reddy — who until recently was considered the second most powerful leader in the YSRCP — has effectively confirmed the existence of a liquor scam during the Jagan Mohan Reddy administration.

He also made it clear that while some culprits have been caught, others are still at large.

Meanwhile, new developments have emerged following the arrest of Raj Kasireddy by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday night.

According to reports, investigators have identified a new key player in the scam — Balam Sudhir.

Sudheer, reportedly a close associate of Raj Kasireddy, is believed to have managed cash transactions related to the liquor trade on Kasireddy’s behalf.

“The SIT is now probing who Sudhir is and what connections he had with liquor manufacturers,” sources revealed.
