Sai Reddy counters Jagan, says he is man of values

Hours after YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took a dig at party leaders who deserted the party during a time of crisis, his former colleague V Vijay Sai Reddy hit back at him.

Taking to the social media platform X, Sai Reddy wrote: "I have values, trustworthiness, and character in my personal life. That is why I did not succumb to any temptations. There is no fear in any part of me. That’s why I gave up my Rajya Sabha position, party posts, and politics."

Clearly, Sai Reddy was hurt by Jagan’s comments about him and other Rajya Sabha members who resigned from the party and joined other political groups.

Jagan had remarked: "Among our Rajya Sabha members, including Sai Reddy, four have left. In politics, one must understand the meaning of trustworthiness. We should not give in to temptations, fear, or compromise."

He further questioned what it means for one's personality, values, and trustworthiness when leaders abandon those principles.

"For Sai Reddy and the other three MPs who left—and even if a few more leave—it doesn’t matter. The YSRCP exists today not because of them, but because of God’s grace and the people’s blessings."
