Sai Reddy continues to pamper Amit Shah

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy continues to maintain cordial relations with top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in New Delhi, even though the BJP has taken an anti-YSRCP stance in Andhra Pradesh by aligning with the Chandrababu Naidu-led government.

On Monday, Sai Reddy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a discussion that lasted nearly half an hour.

"Met Hon’ble Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji today. It was a courtesy call," he tweeted on X (formerly Twitter).

This is not the first time Sai Reddy has met Shah since the YSRCP lost power to the NDA in Andhra Pradesh in June. On August 1, he tweeted about a similar meeting with Shah in his office at the Parliament Building.

"We discussed various issues related to public interest. Grateful to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to listen to me. #PublicInterest #AmitShah," Sai Reddy wrote.

Interestingly, just a week earlier, Sai Reddy had another meeting with Amit Shah.

While he claimed to have discussed public-interest issues during these meetings, observers have speculated about the specific matters he might have raised with the BJP leader.

Adding to the intrigue, Sai Reddy congratulated Amit Shah’s son, Jay Shah, on social media just hours before his latest meeting with the Home Minister.

"Hearty congratulations to Shri @JayShah on becoming the youngest-ever Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC). Your leadership promises a new era for cricket, with expansion into new territories and unprecedented growth. Wishing you great success in this journey!" he posted.

These developments have sparked speculation that Sai Reddy is making concerted efforts to rebuild ties between the YSRCP and BJP.

According to sources, Sai Reddy believes that maintaining a relationship with BJP leadership in New Delhi could benefit the YSRCP in the long run, even if not immediately.

"He seems to feel that cultivating these connections now will help the party five years down the line," a source remarked.
